Is that the Heisman pose that Adrian Peterson, freshman running back for Oklahoma, is making or is it just me?
I'm a little biased of course (being a Sooner fan), but isn't Peterson the best player in the country?
I have always been under the impression that the best player on the best team wins the award. Last year, Jason White of Oklahoma was phenominal but was he the best player in the country? Not quite. Larry Fitzgerald was. This year my pick would be Matt Leinart, QB for USC. Then again, Leinart might not be the best player on his team. Reggie Bush, USC's RB, is the most amazing athlete in the country bar none.
So if you had a vote for the Heisman...who would you vote for? Peterson? Bush? Leinart? Michigan wide receiver Braylon Edwards?
Could Jason White get the award again? He went 27-for-44 for 389 yards and four TD's this weekend vs Kansas.
Cedric Benson? Good running back; team is so-so and his coach, Mack Brown, is god awful. He's out.
Kyle Orton? Dont get me started. He's out. That's all I'm saying.
My Pick? Adrian Peterson if OU stays undefeated and he stays on pace for 2,000 yards.
P.S. I know that NONE of you follow English soccer (well, maybe one or two of you), but in the story below I mentioned the Arsenal/Manchester United game. If you notice I said that Man U needs to start getting goals from van Nistelrooy and Rooney. Man U beat Arsenal 2-0 Sunday ending Arsenal's streak at 49 without a loss. Who scored the 2 goals you ask? That's right...van Nistelrooy and Rooney. Guess I'm doing something right.

Just thought I'd see what your thoughts were on this.........
Wisconsin's first 5 games...
UCF - (0-7)
UNLV - (2-6)
@Arizona - (1-6)
Penn State - (2-5)
Illinois - (2-6)
Their out of conference schedule........UCF, UNLV, and Arizona WOW!
Consider this for a moment also, if Wisconsin played @Miami and we played at home vs UCF instead of the reverse...we'd be in the top 3-4 while Wisconsin would barely be in the top 15. Why reward teams who's schedule is a joke?
Not to mention, YOU DON'T PLAY MICHIGAN! ok, that is all....go big 10!...errr 11...
This is a Heisman poll...not a 'lets bash wisconsin' poll. FSU stinks as does Chris Rix. I still remember what you said about him 3 years ago so give it a rest or I'll turn a full journal entry into just that.
To the dumbass Florida St. fan....those non-conference schedules are made 4-5 years in advance when both teams sign contracts. A couple years ago wasn't 'Zona in contention for the Rose Bowl? And who exactly is to blame for the UW conference schedule? Did UW just stir the pot to fix everything? I'm just curious.
Besides, your players steal Hilfiger clothing, ours get discounts on shoes. Advantage = UW.
I will answer both of your questions.........
First, yes, out of conference schedules are made 4 or 5 years in advance.........but its kinda funny that teams such as Florida State seem to always end up with a harder one........playing the likes of Notre Dame, USC, Miami, Florida, etc. etc. etc., and even the crap teams we play are decent (Louisville, Colorado)......as far as the conference schedule, I will give you that.........
As far as Rix, 3 years ago I did say he would have a great career at FSU......this was after he won ACC Rookie of the Year!, i think most people would assume that someone who starts as a freshman at a place like FSU, based on the past, would have nothing but improvement in his future........obviously, it didn't work that way, and I have no problem in saying i was wrong about that.......Rix is the worst QB I have EVER seen, he has no knowledge of how to run a team........period
I hope Peterson does win the Heisman. He is an absolute beast......but I don't think it will happen for him this year because of the voters......
On a side note, I am a HUGE packers fan this year as I have Ahman Green and Javon Walker on my fantasy team.........but, I do think they should fire Sherman and hire Dave Wanstedt and Ron Zook as co-head coaches/General Managers........now that would be a duo
Javon Walker you say? I'd put money down that he banged my cousin. But I can't prove it.
Anyone who thinks Chyna is hot loses all credibility with me........bottom line
Thought I'd add a little joke to the blog:
An old married couple no sooner hit the pillows when the old man passes gas and says, "Seven Points."
His wife rolls over and says, "What in the world was that?"
The old man replied, "It's fart football."
A few minutes later his wife lets one go and says "Touchdown, tie score."
After about five minutes the old man lets another one go and says, "Aha. I'm ahead 14 to 7."
Not to be outdone the wife rips out another one and says, "Touchdown, tie score."
Five seconds go by and she lets out a little squeaker and says, "Field goal, I lead 17 to 14." Now the pressure is on the old man.
He refuses to get beaten by a woman, so he strains real hard. Since defeat is totally unacceptable, he gives it everything he's got, and accidentally poops in the bed.
The wife says, "What the heck was that?"
The old man says, "Half time, switch sides."
you guys are funny. i just added something to your old buddy dcsportsguys journal about your comments on Arsenal--he made one as well....about not knowing about their winning streak....EVEN I knew about that.
