The real Chosen One?
This is David Villa, star striker for Valencia Football Club in Spain. Why is he in the news? Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would like to have him in the Blues lineup come spring. Why is this important? Valencia president Juan Soler is asking any potential buyers to start the bidding at 100 million pounds.....that's $200 million! That's four times as much as the Boston Red Sox paid Seibu just to talk to Daisuke Matsuzaka.
Yes, Villa is good. He is spectacular. He can score from anywhere and gave Spain a reason to look forward to the World Cup in 2010. But $200 million? Well, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich overpay's for everything. He can afford it.
