R.I.P. Sean Taylor

Redskins safety Sean Taylor died Tuesday morning after being shot in his home early on Monday. R.I.P. Sean Taylor

One of the best defensive players in the NFL passed away early Tuesday morning after being shot in the leg.  Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor, 24, had been shot by an intruder who broke down his bedroom door and fired two shots, with one hitting Taylor just below the groin in the femoral artery which caused massive blood loss.

After an All American career at the University of Miami, Taylor was the fifth player drafted in the 2004 NFL draft by the Redskins.  Taylor, who leaves a girlfriend and a 1-year-old daughter, Jackie, behind, will be remembered as a hard-hitting safety who was quiet and rarely gave interviews.

Taylor signs an autograph for a lucky fan.

Sean's father, Pedro Taylor, said this morning 'It is with deep regret that a young man had to come to his end so soon.  Many of his fans loved him because the way he played football. Many of his opponents feared him the way he approached the game. Others misunderstood him, many appreciated him and his family loved him."

R.I.P. Sean Taylor.  You were a fantastic football player and left this earth long before you should have.
