Mourinho never looked happy in charge at Stamford Bridge.
After Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Rosenborg in the Champion's League, Jose Mourinho has informed his player's he was leaving through mutual consent with Russian oil tycoon and Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich. Mourinho, who has had numerous run-in's with the owner, leaves Chelsea just four days before his team faces Manchester United in a big clash at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Abramovich has spent a lot of money and wants to win...now.
Mourinho hinted he was ready to leave the Blues this past summer saying he was 'a bit fed up' with things at the club. Some of what Mourinho is talking about is not getting the money he'd like to buy players and having Abramovich hovering over his every move didn't help. Also, Chelsea have spent approximately $800 million over the past four years on players who have not lived up to their billing. Andriy Shevchenko, from AC Milan, and Michael Ballack (Bayern Munich) are just two big names who have not made an impact at Chelsea.
